Cuba held a special place in the airline's history: Pan Am's very first scheduled flight, in 1927, carried mail from Key West to Havana, and the island remained one of its busiest leisure destinations through the postwar years. The artist is not recorded. The light palette and single swirling figure capture the music-and-sunshine image that drew American travelers to Havana in the years before the 1959 revolution.
