Edward McKnight Kauffer (1890–1954), the American-born designer celebrated for his London Underground posters, created this Ireland poster for Pan American World Airways in 1953, one of several destination posters he made for the airline in his later years. A stone castle tower rises from a green landscape of trees and fields, with IRELAND lettered in green at the top and Pan Am billed below as the World's Most Experienced Airline. A copy of the poster is held in the collection of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York.
