Issued in 1947, as Pan American rebuilt its Pacific network after the Second World War, this poster invites travelers to Fly to the Philippines and the Orient by Clipper. Carved temple guardian statues dominate the scene, with a Pan Am airliner passing overhead. In the postwar years, the SFO Museum notes, Pan Am expanded worldwide and replaced its prewar flying boats with land-based airliners, opening Asia to a new generation of travelers. The artist is not recorded.
