Bold, flat Art Deco figures fill this sticker: a traveller in a hat, a uniformed porter carrying bags, and a stack of luggage, framed in blue under the name PAN AMERICAN AIRWAYS INC. That was the company's original name; it was founded in March 1927 and flew its first scheduled service, an airmail run from Key West to Havana, that October. The airline adopted the name Pan American World Airways in the 1940s, making it official in 1950. Airlines gave labels like this to passengers to put on their luggage.
