This practical cream label has Piedmont Airlines in blue script beside a small roundel, followed by THIS IS THE PROPERTY OF and lines for name, address, city and state, and a request to forward the bag if lost or misplaced. Piedmont was founded by Thomas H. Davis in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and began scheduled flights on February 20, 1948, from Wilmington to Cincinnati. The airline merged into USAir in August 1989.
