Silver foil, a blue disc and a red swept-back wing give this Piedmont label its shine, with Route of the Pacemakers lettered around the rim. Piedmont, founded by Thomas H. Davis and based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, flew its first scheduled flight on February 20, 1948, from Wilmington to Cincinnati. It merged into USAir on August 5, 1989. Passengers were given stickers like this to put on their luggage.
