The bold two-color scheme echoes the ruffles of her dress and the drama of the dance. The artist and date are not recorded. Sabena, short for Société Anonyme Belge d'Exploitation de la Navigation Aérienne, was founded in 1923 as Belgium's national airline and grew from its Brussels base into a network spanning Europe, Africa and the Atlantic. It flew until 2001, and Brussels Airlines carries on its role today.
