Cut in the shape of an open folding fan, this sticker shows snow-capped Mount Fuji, cherry blossoms and two figures in straw hats, with "Japan" in red and the Scandinavian Airlines System name above the winged SAS crest. SAS reached Tokyo early: it extended its Bangkok service to Tokyo in 1951, and in 1957 opened a route over the North Pole via Anchorage, becoming the first airline to offer round-the-world service across the pole. Passengers stuck stickers like this on their luggage as proof of the journey.
