Red curtains are drawn back beneath a golden crown to reveal "Royal Viking" in gold script on blue, above the winged SAS emblem bearing the shields of Denmark, Norway and Sweden, with Scandinavian Airlines System along the base. Royal Viking was the name SAS gave its first class. The airline was founded in 1946 by the three countries' national carriers, and in 1957 it became the first to offer round-the-world service over the North Pole. Passengers were given stickers like this for their luggage.
