Bold red TWA letters set inside a pair of linked yellow globes: this is the double-globe logo that Raymond Loewy introduced for Trans World Airlines in 1962 and that the airline used until 1975. Airlines gave out round stickers like this one for passengers to put on their luggage. TWA traced its roots to the 1930 formation of Transcontinental and Western Air, took the name Trans World Airlines in 1950, and flew until its assets were acquired by American Airlines in 2001.
