A gleaming silver twin-engine airliner sweeps across a fiery red-and-orange sky on this TWA sticker, with the airline's initials in a white circle and the boast Shortest, Fastest, Coast to Coast along the bottom. In the 1930s Transcontinental and Western Air promoted itself as the shortest route coast to coast, and it flew Douglas DC-2s from 1934 and DC-3s from 1937. Formed in 1930, the airline was renamed Trans World Airlines in 1950.
