A silver airliner glides across a glowing blue circle above big red TWA letters and the words The Lindbergh Line. The nickname came from Charles Lindbergh's role with Transcontinental Air Transport, which helped form Transcontinental and Western Air in 1930, and the airline used it alongside the boast Shortest Route Coast to Coast. Passengers were handed stickers like this one to put on their luggage. The airline became Trans World Airlines in 1950.
