A sleek white TWA Boeing 717 speeds across a deep blue oval ringed in red, under a huge white 717 and above the words Trans World. The 717 joined TWA during its late-1990s fleet renewal, along with the Boeing 757, making this one of the last aircraft types introduced by the airline. Trans World Airlines, born in 1930 as Transcontinental and Western Air, flew its final flight on 1 December 2001 after American Airlines acquired its assets.
