An African mask rendered in bold blocks of color shares this poster with a Douglas DC-8 under the line "UAT sert l'Afrique par jet DC-8," UAT serves Africa by DC-8 jet. Union Aéromaritime de Transport was founded in 1949 by a group of technicians and the shipping line Chargeurs Réunis, and built its network on Africa, opening DC-4 services to Dakar and Pointe-Noire in 1950 and extending to Abidjan in 1951. The poster dates from the airline's jet years, before UAT merged with TAI in 1963 to form UTA. The artist is not recorded.
