A simple cream luggage label with the red and blue USAir wordmark, the line This is the property of, and ruled spaces for name, street, city, state and telephone, labeled in both English and French. Across the bottom runs the cheerful slogan Fly the USA on USAir! Airlines handed out labels like this so passengers could mark their bags before checking them. USAir got its name in 1979, when Allegheny Airlines was renamed, and it became US Airways in 1997 before eventually merging with American Airlines.
