Pierre Fix-Masseau created this romantic design for the Venice Simplon Orient Express around 1980: a heart shape framing Paris, with the Eiffel Tower rising into the sky beside the French flag, under the route "London Paris Venice." Fix-Masseau, also known as a sculptor, became the artist most closely tied to the train's revival and produced the last edition of original Orient Express posters. They looked back to a legend that began with the first Orient-Express service on October 4, 1883, and reached its height of glamour in the 1920s and 1930s.
