This is a new Alitalia Airlines 747-100 made by Gemini Jets
Alitalia operated a small fleet of only two 747-100 aircraft. This particular plane I-DEMA, was the very first jumbo jet purchased by the airline and arrived in May 1970. It served the Italian national carrier for eleven years before leaving for several US carriers including TWA and Continental in the 80's and 90's. It was scrapped around 2001. Alitalia flew the slightly larger 747-200 from Rome to Sydney in the 1980's and early 1990's.
